Portuguese club Benfica is taking serious steps to enter into negotiations with Saudi club Al-Nassr, aiming to sign one of their foreign players during the upcoming winter transfer window at the beginning of January.

Benfica's management has officially initiated communication with Al-Nassr to discuss the possibility of signing the Brazilian winger Wesley, as part of the Portuguese club's efforts to strengthen its squad in the upcoming period.

Portuguese media reports have confirmed that both parties are currently discussing the details of the deal and the terms of the transfer, in preparation for finalizing the player's future before the start of the winter transfer window.

The same sources clarified that the Portuguese Jorge Jesus, the head coach of Al-Nassr, does not consider Wesley in his technical plans and has agreed to his departure to make room for signing a new foreign player.

Wesley joined Al-Nassr in the summer of 2023, coming from the Brazilian club Corinthians, with a contract extending until 2028, before his chances of regular participation began to decline.

Wesley is skilled at playing as a left winger, and his market value is approximately 5 million euros according to Transfermarkt, making him a strong potential option for Benfica.

The Brazilian player participated in 33 matches wearing the Al-Nassr jersey across various competitions, during which he managed to score 4 goals and provide 4 assists to his teammates.
