Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano announced the details of the next destination for Brazilian Renan Lodi, the former Al Hilal player, following his departure from the Saudi league in the past few hours.

Romano explained that Lodi gave his final approval to join the Brazilian club Atlético Mineiro, after agreeing to a five-year contract, marking the player's return to the Latin American football scene.

Romano denied the existence of any official negotiations between the player and the Italian club Roma, noting that Lodi's name was only mentioned at the club's table without entering into serious talks.

Renan Lodi unilaterally terminated his contract with Al Hilal, despite it being valid until June 2027, due to not being registered in the local league squad and only being registered for the AFC Champions League Elite.

In response, the management of Al-Hilal Club decided to escalate the matter legally by filing an official complaint with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), considering that the contract termination was carried out unlawfully.
