Zakho team succeeded in achieving an important and valuable victory over the reserve team of Al Ain Club from the UAE with a score of 1-0, in the match that brought them together within the competitions of the Gulf Champions League, as the representative of Iraqi football continued its strong performances in the tournament.

The first half witnessed clear caution from both teams, as the ball was confined to the midfield with limited attempts on the goals, with Zakho seeking to impose its style and rely on possession, ending the first half goalless for both teams.

With the start of the second half, Zakho increased the pace of its performance and began pressing Al Ain’s defenses, and relief came in the 57th minute when the Yemeni Nasser Mohammed scored the only goal of the match.

With this victory, Zakho raised its points to 10 to top its group, moving a big step closer to securing qualification to the next round of the tournament, while Al Ain’s reserve team remained at 6 points in second place.
