Al-Zawraa Club received good news ahead of its anticipated match against Saudi Al-Nassr, as part of the sixth round of the group stage in the AFC Champions League 2, scheduled to be held tomorrow, Wednesday, at Al-Oroba Park Stadium in Riyadh.

The Seagulls are looking to achieve a positive result in tomorrow's match that would strengthen their position as runners-up in Group D, ensuring a spot in the next round of the tournament.

A special source said: "Al-Zawraa and Iraqi national team goalkeeper Jalal Hassan has been given the green light to fully participate in the match with his team, after recovering from the back injury he sustained before joining the Iraqi national team squad, due to a wrong movement. The goalkeeper was not ready to play in the Arab Cup Qatar 2025."

The veteran goalkeeper, 34 years old, quickly resumed team training upon his return from Qatar and the conclusion of his journey with the Iraqi national team. However, daily concerns about his ability to participate persisted. After recent medical examinations, he received clearance to play in the match against Al-Nassr, which provided a significant morale boost for his teammates who rely heavily on him to achieve a positive outcome.

The sources continued: "Jalal Hassan represents a key strength for the team, as the defenders greatly depend on his directions on the field. He coordinates among them due to his extensive international experience, knowledge of playing with the Seagulls, and his ability to handle difficult situations on the pitch, compared to the young goalkeeper Hussein Hassan."

In a related context, Al-Zawraa continued its preparations for the match against Al-Nassr amid positive atmosphere, which included the joining of Nizar Al-Rashdan and Abdullah Naseeb, the Jordanian national team duo, to the Seagulls’ camp yesterday, Monday. They completed their first training session with the team after returning from the Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
