Moroccan national team defender Romain Saïss suffered an injury during his country's match against Comoros, in the opening round of the Africa Cup of Nations competition.

Saïss felt muscle pain after falling to the ground during a contested ball, which forced him to leave the field early in the 19th minute, with the coach bringing in defender Jawad El Yamiq as his replacement.

The injury appeared to have a psychological impact on the 'Atlas Lions' captain, as TV footage showed him leaving the field affected and shedding tears.

The player is expected to undergo a series of medical examinations in the coming hours to determine the nature of the injury and the possible duration of his absence, as well as to decide whether he will continue with the Moroccan national team delegation in the tournament or leave early, pending the official medical statement from the team's medical staff.
