Tottenham played with ten men after Xavi Simons was sent off in the 33rd minute. Then, substitute Alexander Isak scored the opening goal for the Reds in the 46th minute, assisted by Vertz, before he had to leave the field due to injury.

In the 66th minute, Hugo Ekitike scored a second goal for the Reds, while Tottenham reduced the deficit through Richarlison in the 83rd minute. Then, Romero, Tottenham's defender, was sent off in the 90+3rd minute.

Liverpool increased their tally to 29 points with this win, temporarily placing them in fifth position, while Tottenham's points remained at 22, keeping them in thirteenth place.
