A report published by the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo revealed that FC Barcelona is aiming to end the year with another victory when they face Villarreal on Sunday at La Ceramica Stadium at 5:15 PM Cairo time.

The report pointed out that Villarreal's stadium is considered a favorable ground for the Catalan team, as Barcelona has played 25 league matches there, winning 15, drawing five, and losing only five matches. Last season, Barcelona defeated Villarreal 5-1 thanks to doubles from Lewandowski and Raphinha and a goal by Pablo Torre in the sixth round.

The newspaper explained that Villarreal's last win against Barcelona at their home stadium was in the 2007/2008 season under the current Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini, when the yellow team won 3-1 with goals from Santi Cazorla and a brace by Marcos Senna, while Barcelona's goal was scored by Bojan Krkic, who now works within the sports management led by Deco, who was also present in the lineup at that time.

The report added that Barcelona has won their last six visits to Villarreal's stadium, often by a large goal margin, to the extent that the yellow team has recorded better results when playing in Barcelona compared to their home matches, having won their last two rounds in Catalonia by 3-2 and 5-3 respectively.
