Al Hilal Finalizes Its Position on Neves in the Winter Transfer Market
Friday 19-12-2025
Al Hilal Saudi Club is heading towards a decisive decision regarding the future of its Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves, following the failure of contract renewal negotiations in recent weeks without reaching a final agreement.

Press reports reveal that Neves is pushing to return to the English Premier League with the start of the upcoming winter transfer market, amid interest from prominent clubs, most notably Manchester United, Newcastle, and West Ham.

The British newspaper "The Times" reported that the player rejected all of Al Hilal's attempts to extend his contract, preferring to experience a new challenge in England after a short period spent in the Roshn League.

Al Hilal is seriously considering marketing Neves during the January transfer window, instead of waiting until the summer and losing him for free, in an attempt to recover part of the value of the deal it made with Wolverhampton in 2023.

The capital club had paid about £47 million to sign Neves, but his entry into the free period may reduce his sale value to around only £18 million.

Sources indicate that Al Hilal's management prefers the economic solution, despite the technical conviction of the player's importance within the team, to avoid greater financial losses in the future.

Ruben Neves is considered one of the main pillars in Al Hilal's lineup, having participated in 106 matches across various competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 25 assists, confirming his significant impact on the field.
