Thursday 18-12-2025
Officials at Al Ahly Club are keen on bringing back Mohamed Abdel Monem, the former defender of the team and current player for French club Nice, to the Red Castle squad during the upcoming winter transfer window. This move is part of the club's efforts to strengthen the defense line with distinguished players who possess experience and harmony with the team.

Al-Ahram newspaper reported that Al-Ahly's management is considering the option of loaning Mohamed Abdel Monem for a season and a half, while also opening negotiations with the French club Nice to determine the final purchase price of the contract after the loan period ends.

The newspaper added that the second option on the negotiation table is to purchase the player's contract directly during the upcoming January transfer window for two million dollars, provided an appropriate agreement is reached with the French club.

Al-Ahram pointed out that Sayed Abdel Hafiz, the general supervisor of the football sector at Al Ahly, is personally handling the negotiations, while Mohamed Abdel Monem still prefers to continue his European experience with French club Nice, which may complicate finalizing the deal in the near future.
