Sports journalist Ahmed Hassan confirmed that Ahmed Hamdy, the Zamalek star, is close to leaving the white club.
Hassan said on Facebook: "Ahmed Hamdy is close to leaving Zamalek, either in January or at the end of the season."
Zamalek is preparing to play a match against Haras El Hodood next Saturday as part of the second round of the group stage in the Egypt Capital Cup.
Zamalek had drawn 3-3 against Ismailia Electricity in the first round of the tournament.
