Abdel Rahim Daghmoum, the star of Al-Masry Port Said, confirmed that Zamalek had negotiated to sign him, but he chose to stay away due to the issues within the White Club.

Daghmoum said in statements on the program "Awdat Al-Labs": "Zamalek did negotiate with me, but I decided to stay away because of the problems surrounding the club, despite my great appreciation for it."

He added: "I love the way Nasser Maher and Abdullah Al-Saeed play at Zamalek, and I used to see Shikabala as a great player—no one like him has come to the club. I wished he could have stayed for two more seasons."

Daghmoum continued that Al-Masri stood by his side during his ACL injury, saying: "Al-Masri supported me during the injury, and that was a major reason for renewing my contract. I did not ask for any financial compensation."
