The Saudi Professional League Association has decided to extend the deadline for clubs to complete the requirements for obtaining the financial efficiency certificate, setting December 25th as the final date to close the file.

Informed sources revealed that the extension decision came after reviewing recent developments, despite the association previously rejecting similar requests submitted by clubs in late November.

The sources clarified that the association was firm in its stance initially, before reassessing the situation and granting an additional grace period, taking into consideration the circumstances of some clubs seeking to rectify their financial conditions.

Sources have warned that several clubs in the Professional League are still at risk of not obtaining the financial qualification certificate, which could prevent them from registering new players during the winter transfer window.

The details indicated that the association had previously contacted the clubs and set December 15 as the deadline for payment, before later deciding to extend it until the 25th of the same month.

The new deadline aims to give clubs one last opportunity to settle their financial obligations and avoid regulatory penalties that could hinder their technical plans in the upcoming winter transfer market.
