Violent clashes broke out between Genoa and Inter Milan fans outside the Luigi Ferraris stadium before the start of the match in the Italian league, resulting in projectiles being thrown at the police and fires being set in cars and motorcycles, according to the website "Football Italia."

Reports indicated that the clashes began more than an hour before the kickoff, when some hardcore Genoa fans threw fireworks and projectiles at Inter fans heading to the section designated for away supporters.

Inter fans attempted to breach the barrier separating them from Genoa supporters, forcing the police to intervene quickly to defuse the tension. The authorities used tear gas to regain control of the situation, resulting in some fans being injured and affected by the gas.

After gaining control of the situation, it was found that a car, several motorcycles, and containers were completely burned, while both teams continued their preparations for the match.
