Al Raja Raises Its Demands and Al Ahly Studies Its Position in the Belammri Deal
Sunday 14-12-2025
A news report revealed the latest developments in the ongoing negotiations between Al Ahly club management and their counterparts at Morocco's Raja Casablanca regarding the signing of left-back Youssef Belammri during the upcoming winter transfer window, as part of Al Ahly’s efforts to strengthen their squad ahead of the remainder of the season.

According to Al-Youm Al-Sabea newspaper, Raja Casablanca's management rejected the initial offer from Al-Ahly, which amounted to half a million dollars, to purchase the remaining period of the player's contract, which expires next summer. They considered the financial value to be inconsistent with the player's abilities and importance to the team.

The newspaper added that Al-Ahly raised its offer to $600,000 in an attempt to bridge the gap, but Raja remains firm on receiving $1 million for releasing the player, an amount that the Red Castle management considers excessive, especially with Bal'amri's contract nearing its end.

Al Ahly's move to sign Youssef Bel Amri comes based on a direct recommendation from the Danish head coach Jes Thorup, who prefers to bring in a foreign left-back, as he is not convinced by the available options from Egyptian league players. This keeps the negotiations open, with a decision expected in the near future.
