FIFA Announces Referees for Saudi Arabia vs Jordan Arab Cup Clash
The Referees Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has finalized the identity of the officiating team assigned to manage the match between the Saudi national team and Jordan, as part of the semi-finals of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025.
The highly anticipated match will take place at Al Bayt Stadium tomorrow evening, Monday, at 8:30 PM Mecca time and 9:30 PM Abu Dhabi time.
The match is officiated by Paraguayan referee Juan Gabriel Benítez, assisted by his compatriots Eduardo Cardozo as the first assistant and Melisiades Saldivar as the second assistant.
Chilean Cristian Garay was appointed as the fourth official for the match, as part of a complete Latin American refereeing team assigned to oversee the anticipated clash between the two national teams.
At the level of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, Uruguayan Antonio Garcia is present, assisted by Dutchman Dennis Higler, to ensure the accuracy of refereeing decisions.
The referees committee also selected Chilean Claudio Orutia to be the reserve assistant referee within the approved match crew.
The Saudi national team reached the semifinals after defeating Palestine 2-1 following two extra periods, while Jordan advanced by beating Iraq 1-0.
