Estudiantes La Plata achieved a historic and thrilling title in the Argentine "Clausura" league, after a dramatic journey that began on the brink of elimination and culminated in a victory in the final against Racing Club via a penalty shootout (5-4), following a 1-1 draw in both regular and extra time.

The final match held at the "Unico Madre de Ciudades" stadium saw Racing take the lead with a goal scored by Adrian Martinez in the 81st minute, before Estudiantes snatched an equalizer in stoppage time, specifically in the 92nd minute, through a header by the veteran Guido Carrillo from a free kick delivered by the legend Jose Sosa.

In the penalty shootout, the veteran Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera emerged as the hero of the match by saving a crucial penalty from Gastón Martínez, securing his team's eighteenth star in the club's history and their seventh title in the domestic league.

This victory, the fourth for coach Eduardo Domínguez with the club, not only secures Estudiantes the local glory but also directly qualifies them for the 2026 Copa Libertadores. It also gives them another chance to win a new title when they face Platense in the "Champions Cup" final next week.
