Argentine star Lionel Messi's tour in India on Saturday witnessed chaos inside the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, as angry fans expressed their frustration over the poor organization of the event. Some of them tore off seats and threw them onto the field, and also entered the pitch.

Public anger erupted after Messi's brief appearance as part of the so-called "GOAT Tour," during which the Argentine and Inter Miami star stayed for only 10 to 22 minutes. He was surrounded by tight security and accompanied by several officials and ministers, preventing fans from getting a close look at him.

The Indian fans accused the organizers of poor management, especially since thousands of spectators paid at least 4,500 Indian rupees to attend the event, during which several scheduled activities were canceled. Additionally, the absence of the film star Shah Rukh Khan, who was expected to attend, was also noted.

Earlier, Indian authorities announced the construction of a giant statue of Lionel Messi, standing 21 meters tall, in the city of Kolkata. It will be the largest statue in the world of a living football star. More than 40 Indian artists participated in its creation. It is worth noting that Leo did not attend the unveiling of the statue due to security reasons.

Despite the celebratory nature of the tour, the visit turned into a major public disappointment, with demands for holding the organizers accountable and compensating those affected.
