Al Ahly Seeks New Offensive Alternatives After Yazan Al-Naimat Deal Falls Through
Saturday 13-12-2025
Al Ahly Club is considering several new offensive options during the upcoming winter transfer window, after negotiations to sign Jordanian player Yazan Al-Naimat, the striker of Al-Arabi SC in Qatar, fell through due to the player suffering a torn ACL injury while playing for the Jordan national team against Iraq in the quarterfinals of the Arab Cup Qatar 2025.

Al-Ahli had shown strong interest in signing Al-Naimat after his impressive performance with the "Nashama" in the Arab Championship. The coaching staff, led by the Danish coach Jess Thorup, placed him at the top of their priorities to strengthen the forward line. However, a serious injury the player sustained ended the chances of completing the deal at this time.

According to what the Egyptian newspaper "Al-Watan" revealed, the Syrian Pablo Al-Sabbagh, forward of the South Korean club Suwon, tops the list of candidates to join Al-Ahly, as the management is convinced of his technical abilities and his capacity to provide the needed offensive contribution.

The newspaper added that Ali Alwan, the Jordanian national team striker, is considered a strong second option for Al Ahly's management, following his impressive performances in the Arab Cup. Osama Faisal, the striker for Al Ahly Bank, comes in as a third option, followed by Ivorian player Ibrahima Diabate from Swedish club GAIS, all among the candidates shortlisted to replace the lost deal.
