The Board of Directors of Zamalek Club, headed by Captain Hussein Labib, issued an official statement on Friday evening, calling for the intervention of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to resolve the crisis over the withdrawal of the land for the club’s new branch in October Gardens, which represents a long-awaited dream for the members and fans of the White Castle.

The council affirmed that the project represents a fundamental pillar for the development of the club and ensuring its ability to fulfill its sporting and community role.

The statement pointed out that since assuming responsibility, the administration has begun implementing a comprehensive plan to address the main engineering, administrative, and financial obstacles of the project, with full support from state agencies, in line with the New Republic's approach to supporting Egyptian sports.

The statement added that work at the site began under the supervision of specialized government authorities and according to transparent standards, bringing the club close to opening the branch within a few months.

Zamalek clarified that the city authority's decision to withdraw the land was sudden and unjustified, causing the disruption of a project that represents hope for millions of the club's members and fans.

The council confirmed that over the past four months, it has continuously communicated with the relevant authorities to present the details of the crisis, noting that there has been increasing discussion recently about granting the club an alternative piece of land.

The Board of Directors reiterated its firm rejection of the idea of alternative land, emphasizing its commitment to reclaiming the original land and completing the construction of the October Gardens branch.

The statement concluded with an appeal to the President of the Republic to intervene and resolve the crisis, trusting in his fairness and continuous support for Egyptian sports, and to fulfill the dream of the White Castle fans who have waited for more than twenty years.
