Graham Arnold Announces Readiness to Face Jordan
Monday 15-12-2025
Graham Arnold, coach of the Iraqi national team, commented on the match against Jordan as part of the quarter-final round of the Arab Cup Qatar 2025, scheduled to take place tomorrow, Friday.

The match will be held at the Education City Stadium at 5:30 PM Doha time, with the Iraqi team wearing green jerseys, while the Jordanian team will wear white jerseys.

Arnold said: "The Arab Cup is special for the Iraqi players, and they help me in selecting the final squad for the World Cup qualifying playoff match. They have shown great performances against Algeria and made the match special thanks to their efforts."

He added: "We will enter the match against Jordan without player Hussein Ali and some injured players like Shirko Karim, Jalal Hassan, and Ayman Hussein. Despite that, we will try to deliver our best performance. We are physically and mentally prepared and will strive to present an outstanding match."

He continued: "So far, we have achieved what was required in three matches, as you have seen. We chose Iraqi players from the local league, and I am impressed by their performance. We reached the tournament without a real chance to prepare, yet we made it to the quarter-finals. Our goal today is to improve our performance in tomorrow's match."

He went on: "The Arab Cup is very similar to the World Cup; it is an important opportunity to test ourselves. I repeat my pride in what the players have delivered, and our goal is to reach a higher level. Jordan qualified for the World Cup and is a good team. We have some obstacles before the match, but we will show the best possible level."

He noted: "This evening, we will finalize the status of the injured players and their possibility to participate in the match. We will enter the match against Jordan with 11 players physically and mentally ready. The time between matches is very short and does not give us enough time to implement all ideas, but we will do our best."

He concluded: "The players are the ones who make the difference. They are disciplined and perform the tasks required of them technically. Their energy is wonderful. In my opinion, one of the most positive aspects is the media and the fans' reaction. I have asked the supporters and journalists to be supportive of us, and we feel that they are the 12th player, which gives us great positive energy."
