Statements of Zamalek Coach Following the Draw Against Ismailia Electricity
Ahmed Abdel Raouf, the head coach of Zamalek, spoke about his team's draw against Ismailia Electricity in the Egypt Capital Cup.
The match between Zamalek and Ismailia Electricity, held on Tuesday evening in the first round of the group stage of the Cairo Capital Cup, ended in a 3-3 draw.
Abdel Raouf said at the press conference after the match: "We were fortunate at the start of the second half and scored two goals in addition to the lead goal the team scored in the first half, but we conceded goals due to mistakes."
He continued: "Things will improve in the coming period with the participation of the young players who have recently been promoted to the team alongside the senior players."
He added: "Juan Bezera did not make any mistake, and the player left after being substituted in the match to change his clothes. There are mistakes that I take responsibility for, and I will work on fixing them in the coming period. I am working under very tight conditions, and we must deal with the circumstances we are going through."
He continued: "We fielded Ahmed Abdel Rahim Esho as the left-back, and he performed well. The complete absence of the defensive line causes problems, but Zamalek competes in every tournament with the aim of contending, regardless of the circumstances the club is going through."
He added: "I wanted to give Nasser Mansi a chance in today's match, but Adam Kayid complained of an injury, so we replaced him. However, Nasser Mansi is an important player, and when some talked about excluding him from the local Super Cup squad, it was not my decision because when I took over the role, the squad for the tournament had already been selected."
