Walid Karti Leaves Moroccan National Team Camp to Return to Pyramids
Moroccan international Walid Karti, a player for the Egyptian club Pyramids, is set to leave the Moroccan national team's reserve camp following the match between the "Lions" and the Saudi national team on Monday evening, which marked the end of the group stage of the Arab Cup in Qatar.
Karti's departure comes as part of a prior agreement between Pyramids Club and the national teams participating in the tournament, stipulating that their players return immediately after the conclusion of the first round.
According to press reports, the Egyptian club initially expressed reservations about the idea of releasing its players during this period, due to their need for their services in important upcoming commitments.
According to the same source, the agreement stipulates that Karti will return to his team after the Moroccan national team officially secures qualification to the quarterfinals, following their top position in Group B.
The report also indicated that Egyptian player Marwan Hamdy will leave the Egyptian national team's camp after the group stage, regardless of whether the "Pharaohs" qualify for the quarterfinals or not, in order to join the Pyramids squad to prepare for an upcoming match in the FIFA Club World Cup scheduled to be held in Qatar.
