Adnan Dirjal Launches Fiery Statements Before Algeria Match
Tuesday 09-12-2025
Adnan Dirjal, President of the Iraqi Football Association, made worrying statements before Iraq's match against Algeria in the third round of the Arab Cup Qatar 2025.

After two rounds of the group stage, Iraq leads Group D with 6 points, followed by the Algerian team with 4 points, then Sudan with 1 point, and Bahrain with no points.

Adnan Dirjal said: "Most of the Iraqi team players are suffering from fatigue for several reasons, including previous worrying injuries. Consequently, the injury will keep player Ayman Hussein out of the Iraqi team during the remaining matches of the tournament, but I am not 100% sure yet, and we hope he will be able to participate in the upcoming quarter-final match."

Dirjal pointed out: "Player Shirko Karim also sustained an injury in the match against Sudan, and tests will be conducted over the next two days to assess its severity. As for goalkeeper Jalal Hassan, his injury is a muscle spasm in the back due to a wrong movement, and he is expected to be ready soon, as he is one of the most important elements of the team."

The Iraqi team is facing great difficulties due to injuries and fatigue cases that have affected the players after only two rounds. Previously, Norwegian Stromsgodset professional Marko Frej left before the Bahrain match in the first round because he received a professional offer from the Italian club Venezia, having obtained the green light from coach Graham Arnold.
