CAF Announces Official Mascot for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced today, Monday, the official mascot for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which Morocco will host from December 21 until January 18. CAF confirmed that the mascot is named 'Asad' (Lion), inspired by the Atlas lion, one of Morocco's most prominent national symbols, embodying strength, pride, and cultural authenticity that resonates with the emotions of fans across the African continent.

The official statement explained that the mascot represents the tournament's ambassador and reflects the joy, passion, and energy that characterize Africa's most prestigious football competition, focusing on building an emotional connection with fans of all ages, especially children and families, who are an essential part of football culture and its future.

CAF added that Asad will enhance fan interaction inside stadiums and fan zones, support global marketing and promotional campaigns, enrich digital content and interactive experiences, and contribute to establishing a long-term visual identity for the federation.

The continental body pointed out that the mascot's character is friendly and youthful, expressing lively features that convey warmth, creativity, and diversity in Africa, while the color scheme and overall style align with the Africa Cup of Nations' identity to ensure a unified and vibrant look for the tournament.
