Barcelona Quartet Threatened with Suspension
Monday 08-12-2025
The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Barcelona will host Eintracht Frankfurt at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium in the sixth round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, with a strong desire for revenge following the unpleasant memory of the two teams' encounter in the Europa League in 2022.

The newspaper pointed out that coach Hans Flick plans to field the starting lineup, but he faces a challenge due to four players being at risk of suspension if they receive another yellow card, which would cause them to miss the upcoming match against Slavia Prague scheduled for January 21.

This concerns Frenkie de Jong, Marc Casadó, Fermín López, and Lamin Yamal, who each have two yellow cards in the Champions League and are on the verge of suspension. These players may participate in Tuesday's match against Eintracht, but they must be cautious to avoid missing the following game.

On the other hand, there are no players at risk of suspension in the German team during their visit to Barcelona.

The newspaper added that other players on the team, namely Kondé, Gerard Martin, Baldé, and the injured player Dani Olmo, have each received one yellow card so far.

The newspaper pointed out that Ronald Araújo was sent off after receiving two yellow cards in the last match against Chelsea, and he will remain unavailable to play against Eintracht even after his physical recovery, as he continues to recover mentally from that dismissal.
