Progress in the Deal to Join Hamza Abdel Karim to Barcelona
Sunday 07-12-2025
The Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that FC Barcelona plans to finalize the signing of the young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim before the end of this year. The Catalan club intends to complete the loan deal with an option to buy in the early days of January, in order to strengthen the attack of Barcelona Atlètic by adding the player to the reserve team.

The newspaper pointed out that the player's determination to wear the Barcelona jersey is a decisive factor in the negotiations, surpassing other interested clubs such as Bayern Munich and Milan.

Sport explained that Barcelona gave their approval for the deal after following the player in the Under-17 World Cup held in Qatar, where the club's scouts were impressed by his scoring abilities.

According to the newspaper reports, the player's father has requested that the Egyptian club Al Ahly allow his son to move to Barcelona. The Egyptian club is inclined to agree to a loan deal in exchange for financial compensation and a future percentage if Barcelona decides to purchase the player later, with a fixed amount and variable bonuses if he is promoted to the first team, similar to the Pedri deal from Las Palmas.

The newspaper highlighted that Hamza Abdel Karim is a straightforward striker who plays exceptionally well and collaborates easily with his teammates. He is also known for his powerful shots and fits well with Barcelona's style of play. The club promised the player that he would participate in the summer training period with the first team if he were signed, which convinced him and his family to join the club.

The player will turn 18 next January, allowing him to join the reserve team directly. It is expected that he will not participate with Egypt's senior national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, despite some rumors about the possibility of his inclusion in the squad. Barcelona needs to strengthen its ranks with at least two forwards for the reserve team, which is prompting the club to take strong action in the transfer market.
