Al Ahly Decides Within Hours on Barcelona's Offer to Sign Hamza Abdelkarim
The board of directors of Al Ahly Club, headed by Captain Mahmoud El Khatib, is preparing to finalize its decision regarding the departure of the rising striker Hamza Abdelkarim in the coming hours, after receiving an official offer from the Spanish club Barcelona to sign him.
The offer comes as part of growing interest from European clubs in the young player following his impressive performances in recent international tournaments.
Al Ahly received an official letter from Barcelona requesting to loan the player for six months to join the reserve team, with a purchase option included in the contract.
The initial offer did not include any financial compensation, which prompted Al-Ahly to prepare an official response specifying the loan fee, the final sale price, as well as a percentage of any future resale.
Sources within the club confirmed that Al-Ahly will not stand in the player's way, out of respect for his professional future, provided that the financial terms are appropriate and protect the rights of the Red Castle.
Al Ahly is also seeking to include additional clauses that would allow them to receive appropriate financial compensation if the player excels or is promoted to Barcelona's first team.
Hamza Abdulkarim is 17 years old and has attracted the attention of several major European clubs following his impressive performances in the Africa Cup of Nations and the U-17 World Cup. He has received multiple invitations for trial periods as a step towards pursuing a professional career abroad.
