Al Ahly Source Denies Negotiations with Hassan Abu Al-Maati
Thursday 04-12-2025
Recent press reports have revealed the truth behind the rumors circulating in the past few hours about Al Ahly's interest in signing former Zamalek player Hassan Abu Al-Maati, the left-back of the Portuguese club Rio Ave, during the upcoming winter transfer window. The discussion about the player comes as Al Ahly seeks a solution to the left-back position crisis.

Al Ahly has been clearly lacking in the left-back position since the departure of Tunisian player Ali Maaloul. The coaching staff has been forced to rely on Ahmed Nabil "Koka" in this role out of necessity, even though he primarily plays as a midfielder. Meanwhile, Mohamed Shokry is absent at times due to injuries.

Reports mentioned that Hassan Abu Al-Maati, 20 years old, has come under Al-Ahly's radar to fill the gap in this position. However, a source inside the club told Al-Watan newspaper that all rumors about negotiations with the player are completely untrue.

The source confirmed that Hassan Abu Al-Maati was not originally included in the list of candidates presented to Al-Ahly’s management or coaching staff to strengthen the left flank in January, emphasizing that what was published is merely unfounded journalistic speculation.
