The Saudi national team is preparing to play its second group stage match in the 2025 Arab Cup against the Comoros national team on Friday, December 5, with their French coach Hervé Renard absent from the sidelines.

The "Falcons" began their journey in the tournament with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Oman, before attention turned to the upcoming match in which the Saudi national team aims to strengthen its chances of advancing to the next round.

Renard will be absent from leading the national team in the anticipated match due to his trip to the U.S. capital, Washington, to attend the 2026 World Cup draw, which takes place on the same day, conflicting with the scheduled match against the Comoros Islands.

According to the "Thmanyah" platform, the assistant coach will take on the responsibility of leading the Saudi national team in the match, following a prior agreement for Renard to travel officially to participate in the draw ceremony and represent Saudi Arabia at the global event.
