The Saudi national team dominated the match against Oman, which ended with the Falcons winning 2-1, in the first round of Group B matches of the 2025 Arab Cup at the Education City Stadium.

French coach Hervé Renard started the match with a lineup that included goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi, four defenders: Nawaf Boushal, Hassan Tambakti, Walid Al-Ahmad, and Ayman Yahya, along with a midfield trio of Abdullah Al-Khaibari, Nasser Al-Dawsari, and Mohammed Kanno.

On the offensive front, the trio of Salem Al-Dawsari, Firas Al-Buraikan, and Saleh Abu Al-Shamat led the team's lines, relying on their attacking strength to establish dominance over Oman from the start of the match.

The first half ended in a goalless draw, after Oman’s goal in the 44th minute was disallowed for offside, which intensified the competition in the second half as both teams searched for the opening goal.

Firas Al-Buraikan managed to open the scoring in the 55th minute, following a precise cross from Salem Al-Dawsari inside the penalty area, which Al-Buraikan expertly headed into the net.

Oman’s national team scored the equalizer in the 70th minute, before Renard substituted Saleh Al-Shehri in place of Abu Al-Shamat in the 72nd minute. Al-Shehri then scored the winning second goal in the 77th minute following a precise cross from Salem Al-Dawsari.

The Saudi national team is in Group B alongside Oman, Morocco, and the Comoros Islands, competing in an exciting battle to qualify for the semifinals after a strong start in the 2025 Arab Cup.
