The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has expressed its strong condemnation of what it described as "serious violations of safety and security rules" that accompanied the match between Morocco's Royal Army and Egypt's Al Ahly, held last Friday at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The continental body stated in an official statement that the incidents recorded during the encounter have been referred to the Disciplinary Committee for a thorough investigation and to decide on the facts according to the regulations governing African competitions.

CAF also called on all clubs and national federations to strictly adhere to discipline and safety procedures to ensure that matches are conducted in professional and responsible conditions that preserve everyone's safety.
