Tuesday 02-12-2025
French coach Hervé Renard, the head coach of the Saudi national team, expressed his desire to face the French national team during the 2026 World Cup finals, just days before the highly anticipated draw in the U.S. capital, Washington.

The World Cup draw will take place on Friday, December 5, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where the tournament groups will be determined for the event hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico next summer.

During the press conference for the Saudi Arabia vs. Oman match in the Arab Cup, Renard stated that he does not have specific preferences but believes that facing France could be an important and enjoyable opportunity.

The coach of the Green Team pointed out that the team has enough time to prepare for the World Cup, saying that the global tournament is still seven months away and that work is ongoing to achieve the best possible readiness.

Renard pointed out the absence of three professional players in Europe from the Arab Cup, emphasizing his great respect for the Saudi audience and his constant desire to deliver what pleases them on the field.

The Saudi national team will participate in the 2025 Arab Cup in Group B, alongside Oman, Comoros, and Morocco, starting their campaign with a match against Oman on Tuesday evening.
