Spalletti Admits Hesitant Start and Improved Performance After Falling Behind
Sunday 30-11-2025
Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti admitted after their 2-1 win over Cagliari that his team started the match very hesitantly, emphasizing that the players only showed their true level after falling behind in the score.

The coach said in his statement: "We entered the match hesitantly, doing only the basics. But with the players we have and the coach, we expect more."

He pointed out that the team realized its potential after creating the first chances: "Once you put yourself in a position to score, you realize that you could have done things differently."

And about Yildiz, the scorer of Juve's goals: "He has the quality of a champion, number 10, a person capable of creating victory out of nothing. We leave him free, we don't tie him to a specific wing... we leave him free, giving him the opportunity to penetrate and shoot."

He continued: "After the equalizing goal we scored, we started controlling the ball and creating dangerous opportunities inside the opponent's area. We entered their penalty area 14 times... If you don't score in those situations, the other team gains confidence."

About the upcoming match against Napoli: "I can imagine my happiness returning to that stadium."

And he concluded regarding Vlaović's injury: "He felt pain, and we were managing his playing time in the last few days. The injury happened in an unusual way: he tried to strike the ball forcefully but didn't hit it properly, and his movement caused his leg to twist. If he had struck the ball correctly, he wouldn't have gotten injured."
