Wael Gomaa Attacks Referee of Al Ahly vs. Royal Army Match
Wael Gomaa, the former Al Ahly star, criticized the referee of the Al Ahly vs. Royal Army match in the CAF Champions League.
Al Ahly and Royal Army drew 1-1 yesterday, Friday, in a match of the second round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
Jumaa said in a television interview after the match: "Al Ahly deserved better than a draw, and we were closer to winning."
He criticized the refereeing, saying: "But as I said, the Royal Army team was favored in the first half through a penalty kick."
Jumaa also offered technical criticism of Al-Ahly's performance, saying: "Al-Ahly has a problem with finishing; we missed many opportunities."
He concluded his statements: "Dieng was the worst player on the team during the match."
