The Egyptian club Al Ahly, headed by Mahmoud El Khatib, has decided to assign its legal team to defend player Ramadan Sobhi, the current star of Pyramids FC, according to a statement released by the club on its website.

This legal support comes "based on the firm principles upon which Al Ahly Club was founded, centered on supporting its members and standing by their side," despite the player's transfer to a rival club.

Ramadan Sobhi is currently facing two major legal issues; the first concerns a decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport to suspend him for four years due to tampering with his doping sample.

The second case involves cheating during exams at an educational institute, which has led to his current detention pending the case, with the verdict scheduled to be announced on December 30.

The statement clarified that the assignment includes both Shadi Al-Barqouqi, the club’s legal advisor, to join the player’s public defense team, and Dr. Abdullah Shehata, the sports legal advisor, to provide assistance and support in the international doping case, emphasizing full coordination with the player’s private legal team.
