Financial Fine on Limak Company Due to Labor Violations in Camp Nou Project
Friday 28-11-2025
The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that the Camp Nou stadium redevelopment project is witnessing unexpected financial developments, after the Labor Inspectorate of the Catalonia government imposed a fine of one million euros on the contractor company Extreme Works, affiliated with Limak, for employing 79 workers without official papers, which contradicts the values of Barcelona and the principles of its institution.

The report indicated that Jordi Jurado, the member responsible for the Espai Barcelona project, had resigned from his position after the club chose Limak company to execute the project, considering that the company was not properly qualified, did not meet some basic requirements, and was the lowest rated among the submitted bids, according to a report by Radio 'SER'.

It was expected that the company would impose delay fines of one million euros per day in case of late completion, but President Laporta announced that this clause would not be applied, noting that the project has been delayed by about a year, which may make the final cost of the operation surprising.

The newspaper concluded by noting that these violations and new financial obligations add pressure on the club’s management, at a time when Barcelona is striving to ensure the Camp Nou project proceeds according to legal and ethical standards.
