Jesus Demands Signing a Foreign Defender in the Winter Transfer Window

Thursday 27-11-2025
Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, the head coach of Saudi club Al-Nassr, has requested the club's management to urgently sign a new foreign defender during the upcoming winter transfer window in order to strengthen the team's defense, given their ambitions to compete in all tournaments.

According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Yaum, Al-Nassr's management is monitoring three players currently active in European leagues as part of their shortlist to strengthen the defense. However, the management prefers to maintain complete confidentiality during negotiations to avoid attracting competitors to the deals, as happened during last summer's transfer window in several cases, most notably the Bruno Fernandes transfer.

According to reports, Jesus insists on the need to strengthen the team's defense in the upcoming January transfer window, as he believes that Al-Nassr needs a strong foreign player to reinforce the defensive system for both domestic and continental competitions.

Al-Nassr had qualified for the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League after their impressive 4-0 victory over Tajikistan's Istiklol Dushanbe on Wednesday evening, which strengthens the coach's desire to reinforce the team with new players ahead of the knockout stages.
