Former Al Ahly star and media personality Ahmed Shobier revealed the inclusion of Nasser Maher, the Zamalek star, in the Egypt national team squad participating in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Shobier said in radio statements: "I want to tell you a very important piece of information. Yesterday, I did not mention Nasser Maher’s name in the preliminary list that was sent to represent Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations."

He continued: "Nasser Maher is indeed in the list now, and I confirm this to you. Also, there is a young player who has participated before whose name is also included, but as of now, he is injured with a strain and plays intermittently. He was with the youth national team in the World Cup and is a very good player."

He concluded: "But I tell you they are included, especially Nasser Maher, whose name is in the extended list for participation in the Africa Cup of Nations."
