Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye, Everton's star player, apologized to his teammate Michael Keane, his colleagues, the club, and the Toffees fans for the incident that occurred during his team's match against Manchester United in the Premier League.

Jay and Kane exchanged harsh words in the first half, after which the Senegalese star slapped his teammate, the English center-back, across the face. The referee then showed Jay a red card. Despite this, his team managed to secure a 1-0 victory.

Jay wrote on his Instagram account: "First, I would like to apologize to my colleague Michael Keane. I take full responsibility for my reaction, and I also apologize to my teammates, the coaching staff, the fans, and the club."

He continued: "What happened does not reflect my personality or my values. My emotions are tense, but nothing justifies this behavior. I will make sure not to repeat it again."
