Matthäus: A Bayern Player Has Everything to Become One of Germany's Greats
German football star Lothar Matthäus spoke about the rising player at Bayern Munich and the German national team, Lennart Karl, who has been delivering impressive performances since the start of the season.
Matthäus said: "He has every opportunity to become one of the greats of German football. He enjoys a suitable environment at Bayern Munich, joins a well-rounded team, and has already scored important points thanks to his dribbling and self-confidence."
He continued: "He is a strong candidate to participate in the World Cup because players like him, who possess a special skill, are in demand in a tournament like this. These 'street football players' don’t just force themselves to fit into a certain system; they do what they sense and feel in the moment – and that is Lennart Karl."
He added: "We always fear promoting young players, and this is the problem in Germany. We have to unleash them, there is absolutely no debate [about including Karl in the national team]."
