The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Robert Lewandowski continues to advance in the list of top scorers of opening goals in the history of the major European leagues, having increased his tally to 99 opening goals, surpassing Alan Shearer and Zlatan Ibrahimović.

The newspaper explained that Lewandowski needs just one goal to reach the century mark, which he could achieve in the upcoming match against Alavés. The Polish star has scored 75 opening goals in the Bundesliga and 24 goals with Barcelona in La Liga.

Lewandowski ranks seventh historically, behind a trio of top scorers: Jimmy Greaves with 112 goals, Lionel Messi with 114 goals, and Cristiano Ronaldo leading with 138 goals.

The report also highlighted that Lewandowski opened the scoring in the last two matches against Celta Vigo and Athletic Bilbao, continuing his impressive goal-scoring form despite missing the start of the season, having scored eight goals in over 500 minutes of play.
