Mazraoui Explains the Differences Between Playing as a Defender and as a Winger at Manchester United

Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui, a Manchester United player, revealed his technical perspective on the significant differences between playing as a central defender and as a right winger, emphasizing that each position carries different responsibilities that require specific mental and physical preparation.

Mazraoui said in statements to the club's official website: "When I play as a right-back, I like to participate in both attack and defense, and engage in one-on-one duels with opponents. This feeling is enjoyable for me."

He explained that the central defender position primarily requires the player to focus on the defensive aspect, by controlling the pace of the game and stopping the opponent's attacks, in addition to building play from the back in an organized and precise manner.

Playing as a right winger requires double the effort in terms of continuous running and attacking, along with the necessity of making decisive decisions in the final third of the field, whether in creating opportunities or generating direct threats.

Mazraoui concluded his remarks by emphasizing that he feels comfortable in both positions, but he is well aware of the significant differences between them and how to adapt to the demands of each role within the Manchester United system.
