Spanish club Barcelona is looking to strengthen the left-back position by signing the 19-year-old young player João Victor Souza, according to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.

The source indicated that the Catalan club is considering making an offer ranging between 12 and 15 million euros to sign Souza, who received offers last summer from Dutch and European clubs, while Bayern Munich has also shown interest in signing him.

Santos club is preparing to receive an envoy from Barcelona to discuss the details, while the player's agent, Giuliano Bertolishi, is in Europe to follow up on the progress of the negotiations.

João Victor Souza possesses remarkable experience despite his young age, having played 26 matches with Santos' first team, during which he scored one goal and provided two assists. He also participated in the 2023 Under-17 World Cup and is under contract with his current club until the end of 2028.
