JS Kabylie Attacks Al Ahly in Official Statement
Monday 24-11-2025
The Algerian club JS Kabylie issued an official statement today, Sunday, regarding the crisis surrounding their fans' entry to the match against Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League.

Al Ahly achieved a resounding 4-1 victory over JS Kabylie in the first round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

The Algerian club objected to the number of tickets allocated to its fans who attended the match.

The statement from JS Kabylie regarding the crisis with its fans during the match against Al Ahly was as follows: "In light of the events that took place at Cairo Stadium concerning the ticket sales for our team's first match against Al Ahly, we would like to clarify the following: During the technical meeting of the African Football Confederation (CAF), held on the eve of the match against Al Ahly, it was decided to grant an unlimited number of tickets, due to the requirement that they be sold through the 'Tazkarti' platform, and the need to find a fair solution to this restriction, including making tickets available and opening a special and exceptional ticket window at the stadium level."

The statement added: "To our great surprise, the allocation was reduced to only 750 tickets, completely disregarding CAF regulations which stipulate that the minimum number of tickets for the visiting team should not be less than 5% of the tickets available for sale, not 5% of the tickets actually sold."

He continued: "We are also very surprised by the confusion and disorder that occurred regarding the invitations and permits allocated to our club. The same issue was noticed during the reception procedures for our delegation, which were below the expected standard."

The statement emphasized that this situation is completely unacceptable, despite the movement of the president of JS Kabylie to the Al Ahly club headquarters and his presence alongside our fans outside the stadium in an attempt to find a solution regarding ticket availability. Our club also confirmed its full readiness to bear the costs, yet no constructive solution was offered.

He added: "Such behavior, which violates the principles of fair play and respect for the fans, is intolerable and unacceptable. We call on the relevant authorities to intervene to prevent the recurrence of such violations and to fully protect the rights of our supporters. JS Kabylie has always been keen, and will continue to be keen, on providing the best conditions for its fans and ensuring their dignity."

The club concluded its statement: "The management of JS Kabylie expresses its regret and apology for what happened, and extends its thanks to its fans for their attendance and patience despite all these difficulties."
