Borussia Dortmund and German national team star Karim Adeyemi has confirmed reports that he was fined a hefty sum of 450,000 euros due to possession of weapons prohibited under German law. The player explained the details of the incident, expressing deep regret for this mistake.

In his official statement, Ademi admitted that he made a "serious mistake" stemming from "negligence" when he ordered the so-called "mystery box" online earlier in 2024. The player reported that the package, which arrived after many months, contained prohibited items.

The player pointed out that the package was not opened but "ended up by chance at the police station." However, the presence of these prohibited substances in his possession led to a criminal order against him, which was calculated based on his annual income as 60 daily fines, bringing the total fine to 450,000 euros.

In closing his statements, Adimi affirmed that he takes full responsibility for his actions, saying: "I am a public figure and have a role model duty that I did not live up to in this case, and this mistake has cost me dearly."
