Gamal Abdel Hamid, former Zamalek star, praised Al Ahly Club, affirming that his attitude towards Al Ahly and its stars changed after their support during the funeral of former Zamalek player Mohamed Sabry.

Gamal Abdel Hamid said on the program "Al-Laeeb" on MBC Masr 1: "None of us realized each other's value until God took Muhammad Sabry. When I saw this gathering of Al-Ahly, Zamalek, the youth, artists, and everyone at the funeral and mourning, that's when it became clear."

He added: "I must of course thank Mr. Abdel Hafiz and Walid Suleiman, who attended Mohamed Sabry's funeral. I thank them for their kindness, and I also thank all the stars and officials of Al Ahly Club who were keen to attend the condolence gathering."

He continued: "We have to start from here, and everyone knows that we love each other, but there are certain things that come between us. I thank God, glory be to Him, for this beautiful gathering."

He added: "Of course, I saw the value of Al Ahly Club in this condolence gathering, and I thank all the stars who attended and those who couldn't attend but offered their condolences through their official accounts, just as all the Zamalek fans went to the funeral of the late Al-Amri Farouk, because Al Ahly and Zamalek are very important in Egypt."

He concluded: "The death of Mohamed Sabry united hearts, and of course, I will never talk about Al Ahly Club again. Sabry's death has changed all of us."
