Moroccan Club Al-Jaish Al-Malaki Changes Match Venue Against Al-Ahly to Moulay Hassan Stadium
The Moroccan club Al-Jaish Al-Malaki officially announced a change of venue for their upcoming match against Egypt's Al-Ahly, scheduled for Friday, November 28, as part of the second round of the group stage in the CAF Champions League.
The Royal Army competes in Group B alongside Egypt's Al Ahly, Algeria's JS Kabylie, and Tanzania's Young Africans.
The club explained in a statement published on its Facebook page that the match will be held at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, instead of the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, which is undergoing renovation and maintenance of the pitch in preparation for hosting the opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations, which Morocco is hosting.
The club's statement said: "The Royal Army Club management informs its loyal fans that, following the rehabilitation and renovation of the turf at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in preparation for hosting the opening match of the Africa Cup, and in coordination with the regional authorities, it has been decided that our match against Al Ahly of Egypt will be held on the pitch of Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat."
The two teams are preparing for a tough match, amid great anticipation from the fans due to the importance of the points in the race to qualify from the group.
