Al Hilal club management intends to direct its efforts in the upcoming winter transfer window towards signing only local players, according to special sources confirmed to Al Riyadiyah.

The management, in coordination with Italian coach Simone Inzaghi, prefers to strengthen some local positions in the team, while being content with the current foreign players whose performance the management sees as stable.

This approach comes as an extension of Al Hilal’s moves in the transfer market, where the club entered into direct competition with Al Ittihad to sign Gulf midfielder Murad Hawsawi.

Al Ittihad had started informal contacts with Gulf club management to explore the possibility of acquiring Hawsawi, while Al Hilal took an official step by sending a written notice to confirm its desire to sign the player.

Al Hilal’s moves also highlighted the club’s focus on local players, as it submitted an official request for cooperation to obtain the services of Sultan Mandash, according to what was published by the Al Riyadiyah - Breaking News account.
