Salem Al-Dawsari, captain of the Saudi national team, is set to join the century club on Tuesday evening if he participates in the friendly match against Algeria at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, as part of the Green Team's preparations for the FIFA Arab Cup.

The international journey of "The Tornado" began on February 29, 2012, facing Australia in the Asian qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup, during which he scored his first goal for the national team.

Salem Al-Dawsari is the 18th Saudi player to reach 100 international matches, following former goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Deayea, who tops the list with 174 matches.

So far, Salem (34 years old) has participated in 99 international matches, including 89 as a starter and 10 as a substitute, scoring 24 goals, including 5 from penalty kicks, while missing 6 penalties during his career.

His international appearances are distributed over 30 friendly matches, 30 World Cup qualifiers, 6 World Cup finals matches, 15 Gulf Cup matches, 10 Asian Cup matches, 5 Asian Cup qualifiers, in addition to 2 matches in the 2018 Super Clasico tournament and one match in the West Asian Football Federation Championship.

The match against Algeria comes as part of the Green Team’s preparatory camp during the FIFA international days ahead of the Arab Cup hosted in Doha between December 1 and 18, where the team aims to boost its readiness before the official competitions.
