Saudi Clubs Compete to Sign Murad Hawsawi Amid Financial Conditions from Al-Khaleej
Monday 17-11-2025
Several clubs competing in the Saudi Professional League have begun reaching out to the management of Al-Khaleej Club to explore the possibility of signing player Murad Hawsawi, after Al-Hilal expressed a verbal interest in acquiring him without specifying a financial amount.

Special sources mentioned that the interested clubs are among those partially or fully owned after privatization and have good financial capabilities. However, they have not made any official offers like Al-Hilal did with a letter of intent about two weeks ago.

The sources clarified that the Gulf management, led by Engineer Ahmed Khreida, has set its financial terms for the deal, noting that the player's current contract extends until 2029. However, it allows the club to benefit from his services without additional commitments, with a financial share of up to 40% going to the Ohod club in the event of his sale.

The source confirmed the Gulf's commitment to retaining the player and their refusal to sell him easily, unlike the Saleh Abu Al-Shamat deal with Al-Ahli, which was completed quickly due to a financial clause with Al-Qadisiyah and the contract nearing its end. In contrast, Hawsawi's contract extends for the next four years.

The transfer value of Hawsawi from Ohod Club to Al-Khaleej was less than one million riyals, but the financial condition set by his former club limits Al-Khaleej's options, making retaining the player a strategic decision for the team.

On the other hand, Hawsawi recently joined the ranks of the Saudi national team, and he is expected to participate in the upcoming Arab Championship in Qatar. Additionally, Al-Khaleej played a friendly match against Al-Jubail, which ended in a 1-1 draw. This was the only match during the league break to avoid injuries and due to incomplete team rosters.

The team's management is preparing for the return of Norwegian player Joshua King to training on Monday after completing part of his rehabilitation program. Meanwhile, the coaching staff has given the players a day off following the match, with training set to resume today.
